Hello everyone, I recently bought a 1984 Toyota 4x4 and scored a Wildernest off of craigslist at a very good price. It was however, missing the supports that go underneath the section that flips over. I havent been able to find very much info about these campers but really want to get it set up so I can get some camping trips going! Here she is on my long bed, im actually doing a whole restore on the truck and want to paint and restore the wildernest also. Thanks for any input

I made mine by cutting a 10' length of thick walled aluminum pipe in half and threading the 2 plain ends. Then screwed steel pipe caps on one end of both pipes. Drill and tap the caps to accommodate 3/8 threaded rod. Cut a couple pieces of threaded rod(I made mine about 18" each)and screw into the cap. Thread a nut down for a lock nut, then add 2 more to each. One for below the bracket and one for above. Screw a couple of flanges for feet on the other end and your done.

I can take pics of my originals and measurements if needed. They are aluminum and similar to tarp poles - let me know....

Those support poles are not that important to the usability of the wildernest. They just make the wildernest a little more stable, while you are walking around on the inside. It is actually more important to have the roof strapped open, so a gust of wind does not shockload the system.

I only use the support poles if I am parked on a slope and want to even out the bed.
