I recently bought an 89 S10 with the WilderNest on it. I love it, but it has some moldy looking spots on it. There doesnt seem to be any mold but it looks kinda nasty, i want to clean it but i dont want to hurt it, Any suggestions?

I assume you are talking about the tent. If there's an REI near you ask them about tent cleaners. I've heard good things about McNett Mirazyme, but that's more of an odor eliminator.

i have heard that rubbing alcohol will remove any waterproofing. I know first hand that it does so for any seam seal stuff. from there on out, it is a matter of simply removing the mold stain and resealing.

here in boulder, i was advised that if I wanted to remove mold stains that were under the urethane coating (as I'm assuming yours are) that I first needed to remove all the coating. Here in CO, the air is so dry that any mold under there would be killed by both drying and UV, and would pose no more than a cosmetic issue. However, assuming you are in an area where mold does grow, it will delaminate if allowed to grow and spread.
So, if you want to take care of that, REIman advised first stripping the coating with a nylon bristle brush and alcohol (or similar solvent- being careful not to get something that will eat the nylon tent!). when you get all of the coating away, you then clean with any given mildew remover. following that, it's simply a matter of recoating with a durable coating. a product mentioned, but without actual use on his part, was aquaseal.
hope this helps.
