I picked up a new nest from CO. It’s on my 95 Tacoma. Plan to restore it. Any wildernesters in WA State? Just got new springs coming then will work on new latches. It came with clamps but I want to bolt? Any ideas on best method? Will also redo the tent and add a wood stove Down the road.

When I bought mine new in 1990, they installed it by drilling 6 holes though the fiberglass and down through the bed rails. I didn't like that they drill holes in my bed rails, but it work well. I never had a problem with it.
When I sold the vehicle, I took off the Wildernest to put on my new vehicle, and installed eye bolts in the holes in the bed rails as tie downs. The new owner was happy with it that way.
I came up with a way of using the stake holes in my 2002 Ranger to hold the Wildernest. It is difficult to describe how I did it though but bolts were still used there. I also drilled one hole in each of the bed rails between the stake holes to make sure the Wildernest was secure. That has worked well for 19 years so far.

Hey man. I bought one last year that needs some work. Where did you get springs? I found a post with some part recommendations. It’s getting to be nice weather up here and I’d really like to take it out. Good luck to you.

The springs are custom made. Below is a link for a thread in Expedition Portal started by someone that needed a spring and someone replied that had some made and had extras. I don't know if he still has any. I bought a set as a backup. I have not needed to install them, but they look good.

There is also a post in this Forum about Wildernest springs. It could be the same person that posted on Expedition Portal.
