Was curious about the flex in the camper top when you are laying on the bed. Are those tops reinforced with anything or are they just fiberglass? It feels fine when you are in the bed, but watching from underneath when someone is on it seems to have a lot of flex. Not sure if this is normal or not. Was thinking mayBe a piece of ply board under the mattress might firm it up. I updated the original foam mattress with a 4 inch foam mattress. Way more comfortable. Attachments:

I have crawled around on mine from the inside without the mattress when I refurbish it and it seemed pretty ridged to me. I did hear a couple cracks from the fiberglass but it did not give any. If yours is flexing, it might be a good idea to reinforce it.
I still use the original foam but also use an air mattress on top of it. That works very well for me. It just took a few tries before I found one that is durable and not leak after a few uses. The main thing I like about the air mattress besides being comfortable, it doesn't soak up water from condensation when it is cold and rainy. I stay dry and just have to dry out the foam mattress when I get a chance.
